System File Names and how they may
relate to Spyware:
This section of the site will help you identify
various system and application files by their filenames and see
if they are somehow related to spyware.
This section is helpful because there are lots of spyware files
that use legitimate system filenames but are misplaced on purpose
to confuse the user as they carry out their devious tasks and are
remain disguised by the filename. There are also many files that
are essential system filenames but are slightly misspelled. For
example, windows operating system contains an essential system process
file called "svchost.exe". Common spyware files have names
such as "svchosts.exe" and "svchost.exe.bak".
